MLB Trade Rumors reports that former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jeremy Hermida has signed a minor-league contract with the Cleveland Indians. Hermida played 44 games for Triple-A Tuscon and 13 games for the San Diego Padres in 2012.
He was with the Reds in 2011 and saw only limited duty in 10 games. He played the bulk of 2011 in Reds affiliate, Triple-A Louisville. In 450 plate appearances he hit 17 HR and drove in 55 with a slash line of .319/.400/.524.
Hermida 29, was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 1st round of the 2002 draft. His eight-year career has seen him play with five different teams.
